What information will I ask you to provide and why?
Firstly, If you receive ANY request from The I.T. Bear for password information, DO NOT GIVE OUT THIS INFORMATION. The I.T. Bear will not ask this information.
Remember all your information sent and kept by this bear is compliant with New Zealand’s privacy laws and covered in my Sticky Privacy stuff page (aka Privacy policy) found here.

When you book with The I.T. Bear, I’ll ask for some info—here’s why:
BOOK phase
ON-site only:
Conformation that the property will be safe to work on and ability to install your new products, will comply with The I.T. Bears safety policy found here.
Conformation that you’re over the age of 16 and will be present during my time at your property.
Agree to get a reminder text on your phone before the appointment.

Please send as much information on this as you can, will help The IT Bear prepare an enhanced consultation when we MEET.
Electricity, Internet and Mobile Bills - All this Bear to save you money by getting the right fit for you or change providers, often saving $500+ over the next year.
This lets me have the information during the meet and create phases and helps enhance our conversation to make sure your solution is the best it can be. What I need:
Please send your full latest bill, not just the first page. Also, tell me if you've made any recent changes that aren’t showing on that bill.
Are you still under any contracts? If yes, please share the details. If you have a fixed-term contract with fees for switching providers, I’ll consider this when creating your personalised plan . If the I.T. Bear can see there is risk of this, even if you haven’t outlined it, I will contact you to confirm. If there are cancellation fees not disclosed and you’re charged by your previous provider, then The I.T. Bear’s terms apply found here.
If there any reason you’re want to stay with your previous provider? i.e. includes Spotify plan for free, or I get mobile coverage at home only with this provider.
If I suggest you change providers in your personalised solution, how comfortable are you with doing this on your own?
Property and personal Security requirements

This allows the I.T. Bear to review any additional requirements beyond Internet and Security, as he has extensive experience many other things too.
If The I.T. Bear can’t help with your ‘other’ technology needs, he will do his best to seek out who the best person for you to discuss this with and include this in his recommendation.

While The I.T. Bear hopes to get all the information required for your personalised solution, other questions may come up and he’ll contact you via your preferred method (email, text or mobile) as requested by you.

If you’re solution includes installation of services:
Confirmation of your address you want the product and services to be installed.
Confirmation that someone over the age of 16 will be present during my time at your property
Confirmation that the property will be safe to work on and ability to install your new products, will comply with The I.T. Bears safety policy found here.
Depending on what you’ve ordered you maybe asked the following:
Sweet as Honey Internet: The below is required is to setup many of your solution prior to arriving at location. This allows more time at site for fun things like training and eduction.
What you want your Wi-fi name to be called (this is the name that will show when you’re searching to connect to the wi-fi)
What’s the email address you want to set for administration rights for.
What is your current mobile device (make and model) i.e. samsung galaxy S25 or iPhone 16 pro
Grizzly Bear Security: The below is required is to setup many of your solution prior to arriving at location. This allows more time at site for fun things like training and eduction.
What’s the email address you want to set your administration rights for.
Do you want your security system to turn on and off automatically with geo-fencing when you leave your property (if unsure, leave unlicked and The I.T. Bear will discuss this at appointment)

Keep existing or change your service providers to improve your service and/or save your money.
If changing providers I can hand-hold you through the process online or in person.
Keep existing or change your current wi-fi solution.
Options for premise and personal security requirements.
Options for additional technology support that you may require (even if that’s a referral to someone else who’s expert in that technology)

Savings that could be made by changing your service providers
Pricing for Sweet as Honey Internet, Grizzly Bear Security or Beespoke solutions delivered by The I.T. Bear and scheduling link to book if you wish to proceed.

What won’t be covered during the consultation booking?
Any technical assistance or recommendation on solutions.
Any installation or configuration of your current devices.
The I.T Bear will not be asking for your passwords at any stage in the process. When passwords are required for your setup, you will be entering this directly on your device. Keeping your passwords secret from The I.T. Bear

During the consultation I’ll be confirming a number of things depending on what you’re requiring. Some of the things I could ask are listed below:
Why did you book a consulation? i.e. education, need advice on getting new equipment etc
What your internet, electricity and mobile providers are? (I’ll also ask you attach those files in your booking)
are you happy with your current providers?
confirming if you’re aware their any limits to changing providers.
What’s your address you want to improve internet or security? (important to know for what services are available for you)
How many of you at home or in your business, and how many devices access your wifi?
What type of activity do you do via the wifi? ie. downloading large files, video streaming (e.g. netflix), WFH and if so do you zoom or video call?
What are you future requirements? i.e about to upgrade to 4K TV or more people at home
Do you want your business customers to have guest wifi?
Do you want to have control of users of your security webcam and wifi apps?
Do you want to be able to restrict users internet? i.e. teenagers using phones after midnight?
Want to record video footage of a security incident to send to Police?
