Getting found 1: Facebook is not a website

Getting found 1: Facebook is not a website

If you run a local trade or shop, Facebook is often where your town already is. A plumber, a florist, a cafe people recommend in the community group — that is real work. Ignore it and you ignore the clubhouse.

This guide is not “delete Facebook”. It is the difference between being known in the room and being findable by someone who has never met you.

The sports club sign

Think of a Facebook page or a local group as a sponsor sign inside the club. Members see it. Anyone who is not in that club does not. To reach them you pay for a boost, or you feed the algorithm. Both are rent.

A website is your shop on the main road.

What Facebook does not do

A post, even a popular one, does not build your Google authority. Use the club. Do not pretend the club is the shop.

If the rules allow it, post

Read the group rules. Help first. Then get them to the website. Put that link in the first comment, not in the main post. Facebook often throttles posts that lead people off Facebook.

Getting found 2: Ticking the hidden boxes

Book a yarn if you need the shop, not only the sign. New sites: New Builds.
